After three years of growth and success in the UK and Europe, Lumolist has officially launched across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean! 🎉
Why This Matters
This is a huge milestone. When I started Lumolist, the goal was simple: to make life easier for everyone in the film, television, and photography industries, whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out. Expanding into these new regions—some of the most influential and innovative markets in the world—feels like the natural next step in this journey.
Behind the Scenes: Researching and Learning
Bringing Lumolist to North America wasn’t just a matter of flipping a switch. I’ve spent countless hours deep-diving into the specifics of the industry—researching local slang terms, learning the ins and outs of the 120v power distribution system, and trawling through pick lists from local rental houses. My goal has been to ensure that Lumolist is as comprehensive and relevant as possible for professionals on this side of the Atlantic.
But I also know that I can’t cover everything on my own. The industry is vast and ever-changing, and there’s always more to learn and include. That’s why I'll always openly encourage you—the professionals, trainees, and students who use Lumolist—to get in touch with suggestions, feedback, and ideas. Together, as a community, we can build Lumolist into a platform that’s relevant no matter where you are or what you’re working on.
Supporting the Next Generation
Education is something I’m particularly passionate about. When I was new to the industry, finding reliable information about the tools of the trade was a struggle. That’s why I’m especially excited about what Lumolist can offer to trainees and students in these new regions. Whether you’re identifying equipment on set, learning about its uses, or just trying to build your confidence, Lumolist is designed to be that resource I wish I had when I was starting out.
Industry Partnerships That Make a Difference
This expansion wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support and collaboration from industry leaders like Creamsource, ARRI, Astera, DoPchoice, Sumolight, Aputure, Lex Products and Aladdin. These partnerships have been crucial in refining the database, ensuring that Lumolist is packed with the most relevant and up-to-date information for professionals in these diverse markets. It's all about making sure you have the tools and knowledge you need, right when you need them.
